From the July 20, 2016, Google Alerts for Confederate.
** Confederate veterans recognized as Americans. (Win) Believe it or not, those who fought for the Confederacy in its attempt to break away from the United States and start their own country are recognized as U.S. veterans entitled to the same honors as those who fought for the Union.
The article came up with four different federal acts and resolutions backing the statement: Congressional Act of 1900, Congressional Act of 1906, the 17th Congress in February 1929 and U.S. Public Law 85-410, of May 1958.
If any of these are true, perhaps those who continue to dishonor Confederate veterans are breaking the law.
Maybe someone should look into this.
