There was so much history and Civil War entries, I spun two more off. Starting Jan. 1, 2012, I will be spinning a Naval blog off this one called "Running the Blockade."

Dec. 6, 1865: The 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery, passed.
Dec. 7, 1941: Pearl Harbor
Dec. 8, 1863: Lincoln makes Proclamation of Amnesty and Reconstruction.
