The Confederacy Under Attack-- Part 275: The Confederate Flag and Black Lives Matter Both Divisive

From the June 1, 2016, Google Alerts for Confederate.

**  Student claims he was banned from MCC for displaying Confederate Flag.  (Scottsville, Michigan) (Loss) The Mason County Central student had a Confederate Flag on the back of his truck.

**  Confederate Flags and Black Lives Matter both divisive. I thoroughly agree with this.  However, if blacks would stop their attacks on our heritage, I'm sure there would be fewer Confederate Flags shown.

**  Moscow High students fly Confederate Flags, spark debate.  (Idaho)  (Win)  Idaho?

They Admitted To It

I enjoyed the History Channel's remake of "Roots."  It is a story of one family's overcoming the horrible slavery system.  They survived, despite all kinds of hardship.

However, on the special about the making of it, I believe it was called "The Vision" or something like that, they had a historian actually say that the majority of Africans sold into slavery were sold by other Africans.  The show alluded to it with Africans in canoes with captives heading to the coast to sell them to Europeans and Northerners.

I was shocked that someone finally came out and said it.

Wisconsin Drummer Boy-- Part 2: Other Duties

Young drummers and buglers were also required to help remove the wounded, act as runners and couriers and would also have to assist surgeons in their grisly work.

They were not allowed to carry guns, but were issued a small sword, but on occasion would pick up a rifle on the battlefield and use it.

And, Meanwhile, Out on Chicago's Streets Where Black Lives Obviously Don't Matter to Other Blacks

Listening to Mary Dixon on Chicago's WXRT, 93.1 FM this morning who reported 30 shootings in Chicago over the weekend.  This resulted in the deaths of six and wounding of the other 24.

Even though she didn't mention race of the victims, I am sure most were black.

According to the site Hey Jackass!  Chicago Murder, Crime and Mayhem:

June-to-Date: 12 killed, 48 wounded
Year-to-Date: 243 killed, 1346 wounded

A person shot every 2 hours, 22 minutes.  A person murdered every 13 hours, 55 minutes.  These figures are largely winter months.  As the weather warms up during the summer, these times will decrease.

Deadliest neighborhoods in 2016: Austin with 32 murders, Englewood with 29.  Blacks make up the vast majority of inhabitants of these neighborhoods.

Race of Victims:  Black 190, Hispanic 53, white/other 12.

232 males, 24 females.

And yet, blacks are going after everything Confederate.  It really looks like they should be more concerned by their people killing each other.

By the way, total number of blacks killed by white racists, Confederate flags, Confederate monuments and Confederate statues in Chicago so far this year? Well, that number is zero.

The Confederacy Under Attack-- Part 274: Four Confederate Monuments Make Most Endangered List in New Orleans

From the May 27, 2016, Google Alerts for Confederate.

**  Confederate monuments listed among city's most endangered historic sites.  (New Orleans)  (Win)  The Louisiana Landmarks Society has released their annual list of most endangered historical places in New Orleans and the four Confederate monuments are on the list.  No big surprise there as the city tries to erase its history.  By the way, it is alright with me if they remove the Liberty Place one, but not the one to the Confederates.

**  Confederate Flag to remain at SC's Citadel.  (Charleston)  (Win)  The flag is actually hanging inside.

Wisconsin Drummer Boy-- Part 1: Drummer Duty

From the May 21, 2016, Baraboo (Wisconsin) News Republic "Reedsburg youth is Civil War drummer boy" by Bill Schuette.

I sure would rather be doing this sort of an entry on this blog than the Confederacy Under Attack.  If certain people and their minions stop attacking my heritage I will be more than happy to stop my defense.

Drummers and buglers were allowed to enlist in the Union Army without meeting the minimum 18-years-of-age requirement. Some estimates say that 100,000 boys younger than 15 enlisted as musicians and that 300 of them were younger than 13.

Their duty was to signal when to eat, sleep and awaken.  During battle, they signaled attack or retreat.    Officers shouting orders were hard to hear during the roar of battle.  Instruments were much louder.

The Confederacy Under Attack-- Part 273: No Surprise Here, Kentucky Judge OKs Removal of Confederate Monument in Louisville

From the May 2526, 2016, Google Alerts for Confederate.

**  The Removal of New Orleans Confederate Monuments Has Been Delayed Again.  (Win)  And, let's hope all but the Liberty Monument will continue to remain in place.

**  Kentucky judge rules Louisville can remove Confederate monument.  (Louisville) (Loss)  Really trying for lower case shame.

**  Appeal argued before Virginia Supreme Court in Danville Confederate Flag controversy.  (Loss, I'm figuring)  We can't win in court, not with most judges stacked against us.

No Mention of Black Complicity in Slavery

Last night I saw the History Channel's "History of Roots" show which gave the historic facts about their excellent mini-series.

However, once again, no direct statement was made as to black African involvement in the slave trade.  It was alluded to in the scenes shown which showed blacks taking other blacks to Europeans and selling them into slavery.  But there were no words to the fact that this happened.

It is very hard to get blacks to admit to their role in the enslavement of African blacks.

They did say that just one in three Southern families owned slaves and that most of them owned very few, likely five or less.  I imagine that life for slaves on a small farm would be different from that of ones on a large plantation.

I've Been Watching The History Channel's "Roots"

I've seen all three airings so far.

It definitely shows man's inhumanity to man.  Slavery was a horrible thing with the constant dehumanization.  It is too bad that it happened.  But, it did.  We all have to live with that.  It took brave and courageous people to live under such conditions.

I was glad to see the series showed that it was blacks who sold other blacks into slavery.  From what I have read, it seems that the vast majority of Africans captured and sold into slavery were captured and sold into slavery by other Africans for a profit.

This would seem to me to indict the race as a whole because of their part in slavery.  Those who sold the blacks into slavery, then, were just as bad as the Europeans and Northerners who moved the slaves to the New World, the Northerners who held slaves until it became obvious that the system wouldn't work in the North, and the Southern whites who ended up owning the slaves.

And, While Blacks Attack the Flag, What Is Going On in Chicago As Far As Black Murders?

Listening to WXRT this morning, I heard that there were three murders in Chicago in the past day along with another nine wounded.  Murders in Chicago for the month of May (mostly black) amounted to 66.

I just don't know why all this hatred is directed at the Confederate Flag, monuments and statues when it would seem to me they would be more upset about all this black on black carnage.  And, this is just in Chicago.  Blacks are killing blacks all over the United States.

I just don't get the Black Lives Matter business.  I guess it matters when it involves police or white racists, but not when it is other blacks.

The Confederacy Under Attack-- Part 272: The Flag Still Flies Somewhere

From the May 25, 2016, Google Alerts for Confederate.

**  City fires back on Confederate monument.  (Louisville, Kentucky)  (Loss)  Of course they want to remove it.  Looks like the city and university are heading for lower case because of their shameful action.

**  Portsmouth council goes into closed session to discuss Confederate monument.  (Virginia)  (Loss)  I have the feeling this will not go well for our side.

**  Mixed reaction from residents over Confederate Flag flown in Burke County.  (Green Alpine, N.C.) (Win)  It still flies, as hard as that is to believe in these days.  I doubt it will remain so for long.
