The Confederacy Under Attack-- Part 336: UDC Paid to Remove "Confederate" Name from Vanderbilt Dorm

From the August 16, 2016, Google Alerts for Confederate.

**  Vandervilt University removes 'Confederate' from inscription at front of dorm.  (Tennessee) (Loss)  The word Confederate was removed from the stone pediment at the entrance to the now just Memorial Hall student dormitory.

At least the university paid the UDC $1.2 million to do it.  That would be the present-day value of the $50,000 donation they made in 1933 for the dorm's construction and naming right.

The money to remove the name came from an anonymous donor.

So, No More Confederate Memorial Hall at Vandy.  --Old Secesh
