Not Just Football at Wisconsin's Camp Randall-- Part 2

The state of Wisconsin bought Camp Randall in 1893 and when the remaining Civil War veterans learned it was to have a building, there was a huge outcry against it. //// The University of Wisconsin originally used it for track and field before football and baseball moved there in 1895. //// The new stadium opened October 6, 1917, with 7,500 seats which still make up the lower portion of today's grandstand. Throughout the years, it has continued to grow in size. //// --Old Secesh
