I can't help but think that I would have been in trouble in today's pc climate.
For many years, I wore a Confederate flag belt buckle when I was teaching. I also had a SCV sticker logo on my vehicle which I drove to school. Once a year I put up a Confederate flag along the hallway lockers as part of a mural of historical U.S. flags.
I also had a portrait of Robert E. Lee in the classroom.
No parent, student, fellow teacher or administrator ever questioned me about it or approached me about these things.
I am very sure I could no longer do this.
