The Confederacy Under Attack-- Part 190: Mardi Gras Somehow Survives Those "Offensive" Confederate Monuments

From Feb. 10, 2016, Google Alerts for Confederate.

**  Portsmouth councilman calls for cost estimate to remove Confederate monument.  (Virginia)  (Loss)  We can only hope the estimate will be too much to spend.  Otherwise, it's gone.

**  Confederate monuments controversy ripples but doesn't roll Mardi Gras.  (new orleans)  The Lee and Beauregard statues "co-existed unobtrusively with Mardi Gras" for more than a century until 2016.  Seen at this year's Mardi Gras were some monument-related maskers and one "homeless" Robert E. Lee on L:ee Circle replaced with Harry Lee, Bruce Lee, Sara Lee and Fleur-de-Lee.

Of course, next the Confederate-haters will won't anyone named Lee to change their name because it offends.

Some parade floats made light of the whole affair.  Then there was the black kid who caught a Confederate Flag bead and was offended.  I still say, I'll give him $5 for it.
