Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War Held Christmas Party in 2014

From the December 16, 2014, Owatonna People's Press (Southern Minnesota).  I am going back through some old articles I saved.

The Barbara Burii Tent 24 of the DUVCW had their annual Christmas party on December 13.  Officers were elected for 2015.  Michelle Walburn was elected tent president, after which they had a potluck dinner.

The DUVCW was organized on May 30, 1885, in Massilion, Ohio, and the first meeting was held June 3, 1885.

In order to belong, one must be a direct descendant of a Union Army, navy veteran and be at least 8 years old.

Local groups are called Tents and named after Army nurses during the Civil War.
